Bengaluru: bigbasket, a Tata Enterprise and one of India’s leading online quick commerce platforms, has announced the appointment of Amit Nanda as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), marking a leadership transition as the company prepares for its next phase of growth and expansion.
Nanda joins bigbasket with more than two decades of experience across e-commerce, consumer goods and consumer banking, bringing expertise in scaling customer-focused businesses and driving digital commerce transformation.
Before joining bigbasket, Nanda served as Director – Selling Partner Services at Amazon India, where he led one of the company’s largest businesses and managed India’s third-party marketplace ecosystem. During his 11-year tenure at Amazon, he held multiple leadership positions across marketplace operations, product, technology and private brands, including playing a key role in building and scaling Amazon’s owned brands portfolio across categories.
Prior to Amazon, Nanda held leadership roles at Hindustan Unilever and Citibank, building experience across consumer business strategy, brand development and digital-led growth.
As CEO, Nanda will lead bigbasket’s next chapter with a focus on strengthening its quick commerce leadership, accelerating innovation across business verticals, and enhancing value and convenience for consumers.
