Mumbai; Cipla has appointed Shivam Puri as Chief Executive Officer of its One India Business, effective July 1, 2026, further strengthening its leadership team for the domestic market. The appointment has been approved by the company’s Board of Directors.
In his new role, Puri will also join Cipla’s Management Council and be designated as a Senior Management Personnel of the company.
Puri currently serves as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Cipla Health, the pharmaceutical major’s wholly owned consumer healthcare subsidiary. Since taking charge of the business in 2019, he has led its expansion across multiple categories, including smoking cessation, pain management, cough and cold remedies, skincare, haircare, and nutrition.
According to the company, Puri has played a pivotal role in building and scaling Cipla Health’s consumer healthcare portfolio over the past seven years, helping strengthen the company’s presence beyond its core pharmaceutical operations.
With more than two decades of experience spanning healthcare and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), Puri brings a diverse leadership background to the role. Before joining Cipla, he held senior positions at Hindustan Unilever, ITC, and Jubilant FoodWorks.
During his tenure at Hindustan Unilever, he managed several key businesses, including the Pureit water purifier portfolio, the Homecare division, and the modern trade business. He also worked on leading brands such as Surf Excel, gaining extensive experience in brand management, sales, and consumer marketing.
An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi, Puri holds a Bachelor of Technology degree and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow.
The appointment comes as Cipla continues to sharpen its focus on growth in the Indian market, leveraging leadership talent with experience across healthcare, consumer products, and brand-led businesses.
