Mathrubhumi launches multi-platform FIFA World Cup engagement initiatives across print, digital, TV, and radio

Kochi: Mathrubhumi Group has announced a series of integrated initiatives across its media platforms to celebrate the FIFA World Cup and deepen audience engagement during one of the world’s most watched sporting events.

Positioning the tournament as more than just a sporting spectacle, the media group aims to bring fans closer to the excitement through interactive contests, special editorial content, and immersive experiences across print, digital, television and radio.

Recognising that the FIFA World Cup has evolved into a global cultural moment that brings together audiences across generations and geographies, Mathrubhumi’s initiatives are designed to extend participation beyond match viewing and create stronger audience involvement throughout the tournament.

As part of the campaign, Mathrubhumi Daily has introduced “Panthattam,” a daily prediction contest featured through a dedicated coupon published on the sports page. Readers can participate by completing the form, uploading a photograph via a QR-code-enabled website and competing for daily and weekly cash prizes. A grand winner selected based on cumulative performance throughout the tournament period will receive a TATA EV car.

Adding editorial depth to the celebration, Sports Masika has released a special one-time 124-page FIFA World Cup edition, offering extensive tournament coverage including the history of the World Cup, team analysis, expert perspectives and players to watch.

On the digital front, Mathrubhumi Online has launched a dedicated FIFA World Cup destination featuring curated stories, breaking updates, expert commentary and an interactive prediction contest to allow readers to actively participate throughout the tournament.

The group’s television platform, Mathrubhumi News, has also introduced a viewer prediction contest centred around selected daily matches. Participants can submit entries via SMS or WhatsApp, with winners selected through a lucky draw and announced during Varthakal Ithuvare at 10 PM.

Meanwhile, Club FM, the group’s radio platform, is engaging listeners through an on-air prediction contest where participants can forecast match winners via WhatsApp and submit entries through a Google Form for a chance to win cash rewards.
