Mumbai: JioStar has promoted Sandeep Balani to Vice President – Partnerships, underscoring the company’s focus on strengthening strategic alliances and expanding its media and advertising ecosystem.
Balani brings more than 20 years of experience across media, digital advertising, ad-tech, publisher partnerships, business development, and performance marketing. Over the course of his career, he has worked across multiple segments including print, digital publishing, OTT, gaming, e-commerce, and programmatic advertising, building expertise in driving revenue growth and ecosystem development.
Prior to his elevation, Balani served as Vice President at JioAds, where he played a key role in expanding the platform’s supply-side ecosystem. He was instrumental in forging partnerships with internal and external publishers, while also driving business growth initiatives and strengthening operational capabilities across the advertising network.
Before joining the Jio ecosystem, Balani headed India operations for content discovery and native advertising platform Outbrain as Head of India and Director – Business Development. During his tenure, he led efforts to deepen publisher and advertiser relationships while increasing adoption of the company’s solutions in the Indian market.
His professional journey also includes leadership roles at Komli Media, Monster.com, ABP, and DNA, where he built expertise across publisher development, digital monetisation, audience growth, and advertising solutions.
Known for his entrepreneurial approach and deep understanding of the evolving digital media landscape, Balani has been involved in building and scaling advertising businesses across multiple platforms and formats.
In his new role at JioStar, he is expected to focus on strengthening strategic partnerships, expanding the company’s advertising and content ecosystem, and driving collaborative growth opportunities across the rapidly evolving media, entertainment, and digital advertising sectors.
The appointment comes as media companies increasingly seek integrated partnerships and technology-led advertising solutions to capture opportunities emerging from connected TV, streaming, digital content consumption, and data-driven marketing.
