Cannes: India added another Cannes Lion to its tally on Day 2 of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2026, with TBWA\Lintas securing a Bronze Lion in the Film Craft category for Steadfast’s ‘Don’t Look Up’ campaign.
The latest win takes India’s overall medal count at this year’s festival to five Lions so far, comprising two Silver and three Bronze awards.
The Cannes Lions organisers on Monday announced winners in several categories, including Entertainment Lions for Sport, Entertainment Lions, Entertainment Lions for Gaming, Entertainment Lions for Music, Industry Craft, Design Lions, Digital Craft, Film Craft, and the Cannes Lionheart Award.
While India did not secure wins in most of these categories, the country was represented by five shortlisted entries across Film Craft and Design. In Film Craft, Talented, Ogilvy, and TBWA\Lintas earned one shortlist each, while 22Feet and VML secured shortlists in the Design category.
India’s latest success follows its Day 1 performance, when the country brought home four Lions. Brand David, Ogilvy’s sister agency, won a Silver Lion for Colgate-Palmolive’s ‘Indianis Dentris’ campaign, while Leo earned a Silver Lion for PepsiCo Sting’s ‘The Unofficial Sound of F1’ campaign.
The Bronze winners included Humour Me for Tata 1mg’s ‘Sawaal Uthao’ campaign in the Pharma category and Ogilvy for St. Jude India ChildCare Centres’ ‘Renu vs the City’ campaign.
With five Lions and 23 shortlists secured so far across 30 categories, India’s performance remains under close watch as several major categories are yet to be announced. Awards in Creative Data, Media Lions, Direct, PR, and Social & Creator Lions are scheduled to be revealed on June 23.
This year’s Indian participation has been notably leaner than previous editions. The country submitted 676 entries to Cannes Lions 2026, compared with 982 entries in 2025—a decline of 31.2%, or 306 fewer submissions year-on-year.
The 73rd edition of Cannes Lions is being held in Cannes, France, from June 22 to June 26, bringing together creative, media, marketing, and communications professionals from around the world.
India enjoyed a strong outing at last year’s festival, returning with 32 Lions, including one Grand Prix, nine Gold, nine Silver, and 13 Bronze awards. The country had also secured 85 shortlists from 982 entries in 2025.
With several marquee categories still to be announced, the industry will be watching closely to see whether India can build on its current momentum and add to its medal tally in the days ahead.
