Karur: GECO, the nature-inspired construction solutions brand from the VNC Group, has launched its first-ever brand film, The Geco Tales: The Castaway, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s journey as it seeks to strengthen its positioning in the tile and stone fixing solutions category.
Premiering this July across television, OTT, YouTube and social media platforms in Tamil and Malayalam, the film transforms GECO’s founding inspiration—the gecko’s natural ability to cling to surfaces—into a cinematic narrative that reinforces the brand’s core philosophy, “Inspired by nature. Engineered to hold.”
The film follows the story of a lone castaway stranded on a deserted island after a violent storm destroys his boat. Assisted by a gecko carrying GECO Tile Adhesive and GECO Joint Fill Epoxy, the castaway repairs his vessel by fixing tiles and sealing leaks before finally making his journey home. Through the narrative, the brand showcases the importance of dependable construction solutions while highlighting its flagship tile adhesive and grouting products.
The campaign also reflects GECO’s broader brand strategy of unifying the VNC Group’s tile fixing, adhesives and sealants, and tapes businesses under a single identity, with tile and stone fixing solutions forming the cornerstone of its portfolio.
Founded in 2021 under the VNC Group, which has operated across industrial categories since 1983, GECO has expanded its retail footprint to more than 1,000 outlets across Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The company was also recognised by Industry Outlook among the Top 10 Adhesives & Sealants manufacturers in 2024.

Commenting on the launch, Gokul Basker, Brand Founder, GECO & Partner, VNC Group, said, “With GECO, the VNC Group is expanding into an entirely new category — tile and stone fixing solutions — and The Castaway is where that journey begins. For over four decades, VNC has built its name across welding consumables, steel and fencing solutions. GECO extends that legacy into the world of tile fixing solutions, sealants and tapes, giving builders and applicators a brand of their own. This film is our first step, and there’s much more to come.”
Sharing his perspective on the creative approach, Yokesh R (Yoki), Director at The Paper Plane, Chennai, said, “A fable lives or dies on whether you believe in its world. We wanted the island, the storm and the little gecko to feel real enough that a simple truth about holding on could land emotionally. For a brand built on nature’s own engineering, telling the story as a fable felt exactly right.”
Conceived as the first chapter in an ongoing storytelling platform titled The Geco Tales, the campaign aims to build a long-term brand universe centred on nature-inspired engineering while strengthening GECO’s engagement with builders, contractors and applicators across southern India.
