Mumbai, July 13, 2026: Route Mobile Limited, a global Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) provider and a Proximus Global company, has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Route Connect Private Limited, has signed a Business Transfer Agreement (BTA) to acquire the identified business undertaking of Heltar Technologies Private Limited. The acquisition will be carried out on a slump sale basis and is aimed at strengthening Route Mobile’s AI-driven omnichannel customer engagement capabilities.
The acquisition is expected to expand Route Mobile’s non-SMS communication portfolio by integrating Heltar’s AI-native chatbot, automation, voice, and communication analytics platform across India and key international markets.
Heltar has built an AI-driven omnichannel customer engagement platform that enables businesses to transform communication workflows into automated customer journeys. Its platform supports chatbot and automation capabilities across WhatsApp and Rich Communication Services (RCS), allowing enterprises to launch customer engagement use cases through a no-code, prompt-driven interface.
The platform has been adopted by several enterprise customers for sales and marketing campaigns, helping improve conversion rates, customer satisfaction, and return on investment. Heltar is also expanding its offerings into voice communication through WhatsApp Business Calling and conventional voice channels while providing AI-powered analytics to measure and optimize communication performance.
Route Mobile currently offers messaging, voice, email, identity, and verification solutions to enterprises, over-the-top (OTT) platforms, and mobile network operators globally. With this acquisition, the company aims to strengthen its AI-powered customer engagement portfolio and accelerate the growth of its non-SMS business. The move aligns with Route Mobile’s previously announced strategy of pursuing targeted AI acquisitions and expanding enterprise engagement capabilities over the medium term.
Under the terms of the agreement, Heltar will transfer its identified business undertaking to Route Connect Private Limited as a going concern. The transfer includes the Heltar brand, intellectual property, technology platform, customer relationships, and employees, all of whom will transition to Route Connect upon completion of the transaction.
The acquisition will be funded through Route Mobile’s existing cash reserves, in line with the company’s capital allocation strategy. The transaction is expected to close in the coming weeks, subject to customary closing conditions.
Following the acquisition, Heltar’s founding team, comprising IIT alumni, will continue to lead the platform within Route Mobile, focusing on revenue growth and expanding AI-driven customer engagement capabilities across new communication channels and use cases.
Speaking on the acquisition, Tushar Agnihotri, Chief Executive Officer, Route Mobile Limited, said:
“This acquisition opens up a significant opportunity for us. Enterprises are shifting more of their engagement spend toward AI-native platforms, and this gives Route Mobile a strong position to capture that shift, starting with the enterprise customers who already trust us for messaging, voice, and identity, and are now looking for exactly this kind of intelligent, automated engagement layer.”
Avyukt Aggarwal, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Heltar Technologies Private Limited, said:
“We built Heltar to let enterprise teams launch new use cases quickly, without engineering effort – that’s why some of our largest customers now run core sales and marketing programs on the platform. We’ll keep building on this within Route Mobile, extending further into voice and analytics, with the scale and global reach to take it well beyond where we operate today.”
Rajdipkumar Gupta, Managing Director, Route Mobile Limited, added:
“Route Mobile already offers a broad range of communication channels beyond SMS, and this acquisition is about accelerating that part of our business even faster. Heltar’s AI-driven engagement platform goes well beyond any single channel, spanning WhatsApp, RCS, and voice, with analytics capabilities our enterprise customers are already asking for. We see it as a platform we can build on for years to come as we bring it to customers in India and other markets.”
