Mumbai: Warner Bros. Discovery has launched ‘Naked and Afraid: Aadimanav’, the India adaptation of its globally acclaimed adventure survival franchise, bringing one of the world’s most recognised survival formats to Indian audiences for the first time in the Asia Pacific region. The six-part series premiered on June 15 at 11 PM on Discovery and is also streaming on discovery+.
Inspired by the instincts, resilience and survival skills associated with the ‘Aadimanav’ lifestyle, the series explores how modern-day adventurers respond when stripped of everyday comforts and placed in an unforgiving natural environment where survival depends entirely on human instinct and adaptability.
Shot in the wilderness of Palawan, The Philippines, the series follows six participants as they navigate demanding conditions while securing food and water, building shelter, and adapting to unpredictable surroundings. Removed from modern conveniences, the participants rely on decision-making, endurance and resourcefulness to continue their journey.

Commenting on the launch, Sai Abishek, Head of Factual Entertainment, Lifestyle & Kids, South Asia, Warner Bros. Discovery said, “With Naked and Afraid: Aadimanav, we are bringing the India adaptation of the world’s most iconic adventure survival franchises and marking its first chapter in Asia Pacific. The show is in line with Discovery’s long-standing commitment to present content which brings the perfect mix of unique concepts and real-world experiences. What makes Naked and Afraid a global phenomenon is its scale and originality which continues to captivate audiences around the world. We believe Indian audiences will connect strongly with the format that continues to set the benchmark for adventure survival programming around the world.”
The survivalists participating in the series include Tenzin Jigdrela, mountaineer and expedition leader from Ladakh; Krushnaa Patil, one of India’s youngest Everest summiteers; Lahu Ughade, Everest climber and animal rescuer; Debiprasad Kar, athlete and endurance coach; Sudipta Mondal, parkour instructor and holistic health practitioner; and Nirit Datta, wildlife rescuer and conservationist.
Together, the participants undertake a demanding journey that tests not only physical endurance but also resilience, judgement and mental strength.
Built around the campaign line “No Mercy. No Escape.”, the series unfolds across six episodes featuring extreme conditions, scarce resources and evolving survival challenges. The narrative captures moments of ingenuity, difficult choices, unexpected alliances and the determination required to adapt and survive.
As the first Asia Pacific adaptation of the globally successful format, ‘Naked and Afraid: Aadimanav’ aims to deliver an immersive adventure survival experience for Indian audiences while continuing Discovery’s legacy of factual storytelling rooted in exploration and human endurance.
