Mumbai: Academy Award and Grammy-winning composer, producer and storyteller A.R. Rahman has launched the ARR Immersive App on Apple Vision Pro, introducing a new visionOS platform that brings immersive storytelling, music and spatial experiences to audiences through spatial computing.
Available on the Apple App Store for Apple Vision Pro, the app marks Rahman’s continued exploration of emerging technologies and creative formats, bringing original immersive experiences designed specifically for an interactive spatial environment.
The ARR Immersive App launches with exclusive content created for the platform, including three Kathak dance performances paired with Western classical compositions — Clair de Lune, Rachmaninoff and Fur Elise. The performances feature artists Pranith AP, Palak Chauhan and Mudra IV, with choreography by Kathak dancer Shrita Baskar. The experiences combine iconic Western classical compositions with Indian classical dance, creating a cross-cultural immersive performance format.
The app also features exclusive content from Le Musk, A.R. Rahman’s acclaimed 360° virtual reality film that premiered at the Cannes XR Festival. The experience has been re-edited specifically for Apple Vision Pro’s centered viewing experience and enhanced with new spatial audio mixes created using Apple’s ASAF (Apple Spatial Audio Format), enabling a three-dimensional audio experience designed for the platform.
In addition, the ARR Live section within the app will showcase Rahman’s concert performances and recorded live experiences, with further immersive content currently under development for future releases.
Commenting on the launch, A.R. The ARR Immersive App was born from a desire to go further, where technology doesn’t replace emotion, but deepens it.”
The launch of ARR Immersive App reflects the growing convergence of music, cinema, technology and spatial computing, offering audiences new ways to experience creative content beyond traditional screens. Through the platform, Rahman continues to experiment with immersive formats that combine artistic expression with advances in digital technology.
