Mumbai: Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) is set to celebrate its 80th anniversary on May 19, 2026, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of India’s advertising ecosystem. The occasion will bring together industry leaders to reflect on the sector’s journey and chart the path ahead.
The event will be graced by Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Hon’ble Governor of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, as the Chief Guest. He is also expected to felicitate organisations that have been associated with AAAI for over 50 years.
Founded in 1945, AAAI has played a pivotal role in shaping India’s advertising landscape, fostering creativity, setting industry standards, and facilitating collaboration across agencies, advertisers, and media platforms. Over the decades, the association has worked closely with government bodies and regulators, while also contributing to talent development and strengthening the industry’s global competitiveness.

Srinivasan K Swamy, Executive Group Chairman of R. K. Swamy Ltd and President of AAAI, said, “Eighty years is a significant milestone for any industry body, and for us at AAAI, this milestone represents decades of contribution towards building standards for a constantly evolving sector while advocating for the interests of agencies across India”. He added, “We missed celebrating our Platinum Jubilee 5 years ago due to the pandemic and we didn’t want to miss celebrating this Oak Jubilee!”

Jaideep Gandhi, Vice President, AAAI, added, “AAAI’s journey over the last 8 decades has been defined by the strength of its members and the resilience of the industry. This milestone is an opportunity to deepen collaboration across stakeholders and build a more integrated future-ready sector.”
The celebration will see participation from stakeholders across legacy mediums such as print, radio, and television, alongside new-age digital platforms that are driving immersive brand experiences.
As it enters its ninth decade, AAAI continues to focus on empowering agencies to navigate a rapidly evolving media and marketing landscape while reinforcing India’s position as a global advertising powerhouse.
