Chennai: In a first of its kind move, Arnab Goswami’s upcoming National and Global Media Broadcast and Digital venture, Republic has roped in a News Anchor from a Regional language News Channel to don the hat of an English News Anchor.
S A Hariharan, the Senior Anchor and Deputy Assignment Editor of Tamil News Channel – Thanthi TV owned by popular print media company Daily Thanti Group, is one among the member of the Channel’s Core Editorial group and also the Lead Anchor of the Channel’s News Desk. He played a key role in covering high profile and momentous events of National and State importance for the channel.
Apparently, by joining Arnab’s team in Republic as the Deputy News Editor and Anchor, the Tamil News Anchor S A Hariharan will be transforming in to an English News Anchor and he will be relocating to Mumbai for this assignment.
It seems Arnab was impressed with Hariharan’s way of presenting the news with a tinge of South lingo and Arnab hopes that the same will act as a unique feature for Hariharan to strongly position himself in the English News space.
Speaking on the appointment Arnab Goswami said “Hariharan is a very talented anchor and journalist who has done some terrific work at a very young age. We are extremely excited to have him on board”

Republic is aggressively framing its team with new additions on day-to-day basis at all levels and it is expected to come on-air in two months time. The man behind the Republic, Arnab, is determined to make Republic a mass social movement of change, rather than just being another News Broadcast Platform.
