Mumbai: Carib Brewery, a Caribbean beer brand and subsidiary of ANSA McAL, has announced the onboarding of global brand ambassadors Nicholas Pooran and Dwayne Bravo in India, marking a key milestone in its international expansion strategy.
The announcement was made at an exclusive launch event in Lucknow, where both Trinidadian cricket stars are currently present for the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Pooran is representing Lucknow Super Giants, while Bravo is serving as mentor for Kolkata Knight Riders.
Carib Premium Strong Beer entered the Indian market in 2025 through Globus ANSA Private Limited, a joint venture between ANSA McAL and Globus Spirits Ltd. The product is currently available across major cities in Uttar Pradesh, including Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Ayodhya, and Prayagraj. The India launch also coincided with the brand’s 75th anniversary, underscoring its global growth ambitions.

Commenting on the development, Adrian Sabga, Managing Director, International and Business Development – Carib Brewery, said, “To see Carib Premium Strong Beer on shelves in Uttar Pradesh, and now to bring Nicholas Pooran and Dwayne Bravo together in Lucknow during the IPL – it’s a proud moment for everyone at Carib and for Trinidad and Tobago. India was always our boldest move, and events like this remind us why we made it. This is what happens when you back your brand, back your people, and trust that cricket will always bring us together.”
Carib Premium Strong Beer, positioned as a full-bodied lager with 8% ABV, is designed to align with high-energy social and cultural moments. Priced at approximately ₹130 for a 500ml can, the product has seen encouraging early consumer response in its initial markets.

Paramjit Singh Gill, CEO of Consumer Division, Globus Spirits Ltd, said, “This launch is more than introducing a new beer, it’s about celebrating the spirit of two vibrant cultures brought together by cricket, bold flavours, and good times.”

Highlighting the brand’s marketing strategy, Antron Forte, Head of Brand Marketing – Carib Brewery, added, “This partnership is more than just a sponsorship; it represents the heart of Carib’s strategy – building brand equity through two cultural pillars that define who we are: Carnival and cricket. Their journey from local cricket grounds to global stadiums mirrors the very path Carib has taken.”
The association with Pooran and Bravo reinforces Carib’s focus on leveraging cricket as a cultural bridge between the Caribbean and India. Pooran, coming off a strong IPL 2025 season with 525 runs and the highest number of sixes, continues to be a key player for Lucknow Super Giants. Meanwhile, Bravo, a celebrated all-rounder and former West Indies captain, remains a popular figure in India, known for both his cricketing achievements and cultural presence.
With this move, Carib Brewery aims to deepen its brand connect in India by blending sport, culture, and shared consumer experiences, as it expands its footprint in one of the world’s fastest-growing beer markets.
