Kolkata: CenturyPly has launched ‘Total Cover’, which the company describes as India’s first comprehensive warranty commitment in the plywood category, along with a new national campaign featuring actor Aamir Khan to communicate the proposition.
Unlike conventional plywood warranties that primarily focus on product replacement, Total Cover is designed to address the broader cost and inconvenience associated with furniture restoration. Under the initiative, if a defect is confirmed within the first 10 years in CenturyPly’s Club Prime or Architect Ply, the company will reimburse the cost of the furniture arising from the defect, including the cost of plywood, laminates, adhesives, labour and transportation.
The initiative follows nearly two-and-a-half years of consumer research, service case analysis and stakeholder interviews conducted by CenturyPly in partnership with research agency Centre of Gravity.
The research found that when a plywood defect occurs, homeowners are often more concerned about the inconvenience, disruption and expense involved in rebuilding furniture than about replacing the plywood itself. The study also highlighted uncertainty around the warranty process, including how to initiate a claim, the documentation required and the expected resolution time.
According to CenturyPly, plywood-related defects are extremely rare for the company, accounting for approximately 0.06% of cases. However, the insights prompted the company to rethink the role of warranties and focus on addressing the broader concerns associated with a potential defect.

Speaking on the launch, Nikita Bansal, Executive Director, CenturyPly says, “Most warranties replace products. Our research showed that customers worry about replacing their furniture. Total Cover was born from that insight. The communication challenge was equally significant because such a promise naturally invites skepticism. That’s why the campaign first builds belief before revealing the proposition.”
As part of the initiative, CenturyPly has also digitised its warranty journey through its website. Customers can register their purchase in under two minutes, receive a digital warranty certificate and initiate claims online, if required, by uploading photographs. The company says most eligible cases are attended to within seven days.
To build credibility around the proposition, CenturyPly has partnered with Aamir Khan for the campaign. The brand said his association with credibility and perfection aligned with the role required for the campaign, positioning him as a credibility builder rather than only a celebrity endorser.
Set inside an elegant home, the television commercial uses humour and conversational storytelling to reflect the skepticism consumers may have towards an expansive warranty promise. Built around the thought “Poore Furniture Ka Full Cost Wapas,” the campaign aims to simplify the proposition and communicate its broader consumer benefit.
With Total Cover, CenturyPly is seeking to shift the plywood warranty conversation from product replacement towards comprehensive consumer reassurance. The company is positioning the initiative as an extension of its focus on manufacturing quality, product innovation and customer-centricity.
The campaign has been conceptualised by VML and produced by Earth Sky Productions. The television commercial has been directed by filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari.
The integrated campaign will roll out across television, digital, OTT, print, radio, search and social media, along with premium publishing platforms. The media plan includes platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, Meta, Moneycontrol and Google, targeting consumers across different stages of the home-building and furnishing journey.
