Mumbai: As the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 concluded with the final between India national cricket team and New Zealand national cricket team, digital fan engagement on the CREX platform witnessed a significant surge. According to data shared by CREX, the platform recorded a 15% increase in visitors during the 2026 final compared to the India vs South Africa final in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Monthly engagement on the platform also rose substantially, with monthly active users reaching approximately 19 million during the tournament period—representing a 20% increase compared to around 16 million users during the final phase of the 2024 edition.
Commenting on the growing digital engagement during major cricket events, Purshottam Rawat, CEO of CREX, said, “Major tournament finals bring together millions of fans who want more than just the score they want deeper insights, statistics, and context around every moment of the game. Total time spent on the CREX app reached 213.5 million minutes, marking a 24% increase compared to engagement recorded during the 2024 final. In addition, total visitor sessions climbed to 56.55 million, reflecting a 20% increase over the sessions logged during the previous tournament’s final.
The data underscores a broader shift in how cricket fans consume live sporting events, with audiences increasingly turning to digital platforms multiple times during matches to access real-time statistics, player performance data, match breakdowns and contextual insights alongside live broadcasts.
The engagement trends from the India–New Zealand World Cup final highlight how major tournament moments continue to drive deeper interaction with real-time match data and analytics.
