Mumbai: Building on the growing momentum of its impactful #SwitchToFluorideFree initiative, Dabur Red Paste has scaled up the campaign into a full-fledged brand movement aimed at transforming oral care awareness in India. The national campaign, supported by regional influencer storytelling, animated explainers, SEO, and purpose-led communication, calls attention to the risks of excessive fluoride exposure and positions Dabur Red Paste as a natural, safer alternative.
The campaign was triggered by findings from a Ministry of Jal Shakti report, which revealed that groundwater in 370 districts across 23 Indian states contains fluoride levels above the permissible limit. For families living in such areas, using fluoridated toothpaste — particularly among children who may accidentally swallow it — could increase long-term health risks, including dental fluorosis, brittle bones, and even lower IQ levels.
“As a brand that has always believed in offering natural, safe, and effective oral care solutions, we felt it was our responsibility to bring this issue to the forefront,” said Prashant Agarwal, Head of Marketing, Oral Care, Dabur India Ltd. “#SwitchToFluorideFree is more than a campaign, it’s a public health message, urging families to check their toothpaste labels and make the informed choice towards fluoride-free alternatives like Dabur Red Paste.”
To amplify reach and impact, Dabur partnered with creative and digital agency Mixed Route Juice, crafting a full-funnel campaign combining regional influencer-led content, animated explainer videos, carousel education posts, SEO strategy, search campaigns, and purpose-led positioning.
“Our goal was to bring empathy and urgency to a silent issue hiding in plain sight,” said Amrita Sharma, Founder & Creative Director at Mixed Route Juice. “By combining public data, Ayurveda’s relevance, and influencer-led narrative, we made the science accessible and the solution obvious. This is the kind of real, meaningful storytelling that we delight in.”
The campaign took a hyper-localized approach, enlisting influencers from high-fluoride regions such as Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Odisha, who contextualized the issue in their own dialects and urged consumers to “Flip the Pack” and look for fluoride warnings like “Do Not Swallow.”
The campaign’s creative execution spanned high-retention reels, carousel formats, and offline activations, making #SwitchToFluorideFree not just a message but a growing digital and grassroots movement. Consumer engagement has been strong, especially among health-conscious parents and regional audiences.
Clinically proven and Ayurvedic, Dabur Red Paste addresses seven dental problems — from preventing decay to fighting bad breath — while being completely fluoride-free.
As oral care becomes central to broader preventive health discussions, Dabur’s bold and informative campaign is a timely call for Indian families to rethink their everyday oral health habits — not just to brush, but to brush better.
