Mumbai: Delhi Press has announced a strategic reorganisation and appointed Shailesh Srivastava as Chief Operating Officer, as the publishing house sharpens its focus on advertising revenue, events IP, content monetisation, and the revival of the magazine business.
Home to iconic brands including The Caravan, Champak, Grihshobha, Motoring World, Sarita, and Manohar Kahaniyan, Delhi Press currently publishes 31 magazines across nine languages, along with a portfolio of nine websites and associated social media channels.
“With a rich legacy across print and digital storytelling, Delhi Press is accelerating its transformation into a multi-vertical content and experiences company,” said Anant Nath, Executive Publisher.
The company has also expanded its events vertical in recent years, currently organising 30–35 events annually, with plans to scale the portfolio to over 70 events. These include women achiever awards, homemaker conclaves, farmer recognition platforms, regional cinema awards, automotive honours, experiential workshops, and reader engagement initiatives linked to its magazine brands.
Nath added “We are in a phase of exciting transformation, investing in digital infrastructure, branded content, creator partnerships, and immersive brand experiences. Shailesh’s deep experience in scaling media businesses, monetising IP and building high-impact events makes him the ideal leader to steer this next phase.”
Shailesh Srivastava joins Delhi Press from Reliance Broadcast Network Limited, where he served as Business Head for eight years. During his tenure, he led growth in event IP, expanded revenues from emerging non-metro markets, and drove several content-first initiatives and government partnerships. Prior to this, he held leadership roles across the BFSI, telecom, and hospitality sectors.
“Content is the company’s core asset; events and IP are its growth engines”, said Shailesh Srivastava. “I look forward to working with the team to deepen audience engagement and build scalable revenue streams.”
The appointment follows a series of senior leadership additions at Delhi Press. In 2024, Bimal Pant joined as National Head – Reader Revenues, focusing on subscriptions and distribution transformation. In 2025, Shivank Sidhu came on board as Strategic Consultant – Brand Marketing, leading initiatives around events and new IP development.
Delhi Press said its reader revenue business has seen a significant turnaround in recent years, driven by subscriptions, tele-sales, partnerships with governments and educational institutions, quick commerce and e-commerce collaborations, digital aggregator tie-ups, and improvements in subscription delivery systems. According to the company, subscriptions now contribute over 65% of reader revenues, compared to 5% earlier, while subscription revenues have grown five-fold.
Nath added, “Our publishing efforts across magazine brands are geared towards nurturing highly engaged and involved community of readers, who are emotionally invested in the brand they are consuming, and are willing to pay premium monies for our content and experiences. Magazine content is expensive to produce and we therefore charge the premium it deserves. Our endeavour is to reach out to them at their convenience by way of improved logistics, digital channels, and through our live events. And we hope to create compelling partnerships with marketers to engage with these highly involved readers in a deep and meaningful manner”.
