Dhurandhar clocks over 53 million viewers on JioStar Network, sets new benchmark for television premieres

Mumbai: The World Television Premiere of Dhurandhar across Star Gold, Star Gold 2, and Colors Cineplex on the JioStar Network delivered a record-breaking performance, reaching more than 53 million viewers and reinforcing television’s enduring scale as a destination for blockbuster entertainment.

According to the network, the premiere emerged as the highest-reaching World Television Premiere in the last five years, further underlining the continued strength of television in amplifying major entertainment properties.

In another notable milestone, the film’s television reach, achieved within approximately four hours of broadcast, was 1.4 times higher than its cumulative theatrical footfall generated over a three-month cinema run, highlighting television’s ability to extend content discovery and audience engagement at scale.

Speaking on the film’s

television success, Alok Jain, Head – Hindi & English Entertainment Business (Streaming, TV & Studios), JioStar, said, “The phenomenal response to Dhurandhar’s world television premiere underscores the enduring power of great storytelling. Reaching over 53 million viewers is a remarkable milestone and reflects the scale and strength of our network. The film is a strong example of how audiences today engage with content across multiple screens, with each viewing experience extending its reach and impact. As the biggest Hindi film premiere on Indian television in 2026, we are proud to have brought Dhurandhar to millions of homes and remain committed to delivering compelling stories wherever audiences choose to watch them.”

The television premiere also attracted a strong roster of advertisers, reflecting growing confidence among brands in premium entertainment programming and its ability to deliver both scale and engagement.

The sponsorship lineup featured Thums Up as co-presenting sponsor, alongside Sting by PepsiCo and Wonder Cement as co-powered sponsors. Additional partners included Google Search, Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), Surf Excel, Cadbury Dairy Milk, and Blenders Pride Packaged Drinking Water.

Dhurandhar features an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan and Sara Arjun.

Presented by Jio Studios and produced by B62 Studios, the film is written, directed and co-produced by Aditya Dhar and produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar.
