Mumbai: Elastic, the Search AI Company, has appointed Atul Ahuja as Area Vice President and General Manager for India. In this role, Ahuja will spearhead the company’s strategy and growth in the country, focusing on enabling enterprises to build AI applications powered by their own data and transition from experimentation to real-world deployment.
Ahuja’s appointment comes at a time when organisations are moving beyond generative AI pilots toward production-scale applications. As enterprises grapple with fragmented data across logs, documents, applications, and systems, the need for contextual, real-time AI solutions has become increasingly critical. Elastic addresses this challenge by enabling organisations to connect AI with enterprise data without requiring extensive data movement or duplication.
Bringing over three decades of experience, Ahuja has led enterprise technology and market expansion initiatives across India and the Asia Pacific region. Most recently, he served as a strategic advisor to emerging technology firms, helping scale go-to-market operations across AI, cloud, and cybersecurity domains.

“Atul joins us at an important moment,” said Sanjay Deshmukh, Vice President of Asia Pacific and Japan, Elastic. “Organisations globally and in India are now under pressure to turn AI investment into real outcomes. That requires more than models and the ability to build agents; it requires access to the right data and context. Elastic helps customers connect AI to their enterprise data so they can move faster from experimentation to impact.”
“Across India, organisations are quickly realising that AI is only as effective as the data behind it,” said Ahuja. “The opportunity now is to build AI applications and agents that are grounded in real enterprise data, bringing models closer to the systems, signals, and knowledge they depend on. Elastic’s position in the AI stack is critical to making that possible. My focus will be on helping customers translate AI ambition into systems that deliver measurable outcomes.”
