Mumbai: Google has appointed Mitul Shah as the new Managing Director for its Devices & Services Business, where he will lead Pixel’s sales and expansion efforts in India. Shah, who previously served as Head of Consumer Sales at Apple for over nine years, brings with him a wealth of experience in technology, sales, and strategy.
In a post on his LinkedIn profile, Mitul shared his excitement about joining Google, stating, “I am happy to share that I’ve started an exciting new journey with Google as Managing Director for Devices & Services Business – leading Pixel’s sales and expansion efforts in India. It’s an honor to be part of a company that’s at the forefront of innovation, and I’m particularly thrilled to be working on a product that has the potential to put the magic and power of AI in the pockets of millions of people across my beloved country.”
Shah emphasized the transformative power of technology, particularly AI, which he believes can create a more inclusive and equitable world. “Google has been at the vanguard of the AI revolution, and pivotal in making the power of this technology accessible and helpful to everyone,” he noted. He also recognized India as one of the most dynamic and tech-savvy countries, where AI is set to positively impact millions of lives by amplifying creativity, boosting productivity, and unlocking new possibilities.
Shah further highlighted the role of Pixel in this transformation, stating, “Pixel is not just another device. It’s the platform designed to put the immense power and possibilities of AI in everyone’s pocket. In response to questions about his transition from Apple, Mitul explained, “This is not a switch. Mitul’s career includes significant leadership roles at Apple, Accenture, Infosys Technologies, and DecisionCraft Analytics. He began his career at Maersk India in 2002. With expertise in strategy, sales, channel management, supply chain, operations, and digital, Mitul holds an MBA in Systems & Supply Chain Management from SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS).
