IPL 2018 player retention: CSK retains MS Dhoni for 15 Cr along with Raina and Jadeja

Mumbai: Marking the beginning of VIVO IPL 2018, the player retention announcement was broadcast for the first time on the Star Sports Network, where eight franchises announced names of their retained players.

The IPL Player retention event has seen Chennai Super Kings retaining MS Dhoni for Rs 15 Cr, Suresh Raina for 11 Cr and Ravindra Jadeja for Rs 7 Cr.

Rajasthan Royals retained Steve Smith for Rs 12 Cr while Royal Challengers Bangalore has retained Virat Kholi for Rs 17 Cr, AB De Villers for Rs for 11 Cr and Sarfaraz Khan for 1.75 Cr.

Sunrisers Hyderabad has retained David Warner and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar for Rs 12 Cr and 8.5 Cr respectively.

Mumbai Indians has retained Rohit Sharma for 15 Cr, Hardik Pandya for 11Cr and Jasprit Bumrah 7 Cr.

Kolkata Night Riders has retained SuniNairain (8.5 Cr) and Andrew Russel (7 Cr)

IPL Franchise Representatives with BCCI Representatives participated in the event includes George John – Team Director of Chennai Super Kings, Hemant Dua – CEO of Delhi Daredevils, Satish Menon – CEO of Kings XI Punjab, Venky Mysore – CEO of Kolkata Knight Riders, Amitabh Chaudhary – Acting Secretary of BCCI, Ranjit Barthakur – Acting CEO and Chairman of Rajasthan Royals, Akash Ambani of Mumbai Indians, VVS Laxman – Team Mentor of Sunrisers Hyderabad, K Shanmugam – CEO of Sunrisers Hyderabad, Amrit Thomas – Chairman of Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rahul Johri –  the CEO of BCCI.
