Mumbai : Rupen Desai, the regional president of Mullen Lowe, is leaving the agency after five years running Asia and 20 years with the network.
A replacement has yet to be named by Lowe, and Desai had not revealed his next move at the time of publishing.
Desai in a statement said that “The Lowe network has been home for the last 20 great years and I am proud that we have achieved great momentum in the region.”
“The network is now a creative and effectiveness powerhouse, having had strong growth as well as a broadening of the capabilities in the last couple of years, with the Lowe Profero digital offering adding to the core Lowe advertising network, and the specialist Lowe Open, shopper and activation division.”
“It’s gratifying to leave the network in such a robust place,” he said.
Desai has worked for Lowe as a suit in India, London, Dubai, Thailand, Singapore and Dubai. He was appointed Lowe APAC president in July 2010.
Among his major achievements is in leading Unilever’s laundry business with the successful, ongoing ‘Dirt is good’ campaign for Omo a focal point of his work over the last eight years.
News of his departure comes shortly after Lowe & Partners was merged with American IPG sibling Mullen.
