Maa TV announces the launch of MEK Season 3

Hyderabad: Telugu Satellite channel Maa TV has announced the launch of third season of its flagship non-fiction property Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu aka MEK Season 3, which is the Telugu version of KBC.

PROCEDURE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COMPETITION:
Level 1 – Individual:
1. One Competition question having four multiple choice answer options will be aired each day during the promotions of the Show beginning from 26th September 2015 to 3rd October 2015 for all BSNL landline telephone and select mobile telephone subscribers (Airtel/ BSNL/ TATA/ Idea/Reliance/ Uninor/ Vodafone), excluding any calls made from a public call office (PCO) (“General Round Period”) i.e. a total of 7 (Seven) unique questions will be asked during the General round period .

The promotions will be aired inviting all viewers to register for the Competition. The telephone lines and the mobile phone lines and SMS acceptance, for each question of the General round period shall be open for twenty three and a half hours (23 hours and 30 minutes) i.e. beginning from 6:30:00 PM (IST) to next day 6:00:00 PM (IST) only. Detailed timelines are as below:

2. The calls and/ or SMS (together referred to as “Entry”) for participating should have been completed on or before closing of the defined timelines in order to be considered as a valid entry (“Valid Entry/ies”).

3. The cellular/landline number from which the registration is received will be used as unique identification number received to identify the Registrant. Each Registrant may submit multiple entries. Valid Entries sent each day shall only be considered for the random selection process for that day (a day is defined as a 23 hours and 30 minute period commencing from 6:30:00 PM to 6:00:00 PM the next day for General Round Period).

The Channel is also in the process of finalizing the commercials with Production house Big Synergy and the celebrity host, who fills the hot seat, actor Akkineni Nagarjuna.

Maa TV has unveiled the promo of the quiz show MEK Season 3 and the promo has visuals of the show’s dramatic set and has the show’s quintessential music composed by Matthew Strachan.

Maa TV is likely to initiate the registrations for MEK Season 3 in couple of weeks to kick start the audition process of MEK. Going by the previous practices, Maa TV will be in a position to put the show in floor by October first week and the telecast of the show is likely to happen by end of October or beginning of November month.

Earlier, MEK season 2 registration was announced on 9th October 2014 and the show telecast started exactly two months later on 8th December 2014 and it finally concluded on 27th February 2015.

The Channel is yet to decide on the telecast time-band of MEK Season 3, as they are studying the consequences of the show delivery in two different time bands as the MEK season 1 was slotted at 9:00 PM, while the MEK season 2 was shifted to 9:30 PM.

The advantage of slotting at 9:00 pm is, it attract more eye balls from tier 2 and tier 3 towns along with considerable increase in rural audience. However by slotting at 9:30 pm the channel gets to drag the captive audience till 10:30 PM to generate better numbers at the late night time band.

As of now, the channel sources are keeping cards close to their chest and busy analyzing various aspects in their board room to make sure that MEK 3 scores high in all aspects when compared with the previous seasons of the show.
