Mumbai: Netflix has strengthened its India leadership team with the appointment of Vamsi Murthy as Senior Director and Head of Marketing. Murthy announced his new role on LinkedIn, expressing enthusiasm about leading the streaming giant’s marketing strategy in one of its key global markets.

A seasoned marketing professional, Murthy brings over a decade of experience in building brands across digital, entertainment, and consumer tech sectors. Before joining Netflix, he served as Executive Director and Head of Marketing at JioStar, where he spent nearly four years driving brand and audience engagement initiatives.
Earlier in his career, he held senior marketing positions at several leading companies including BookMyShow, ZEE5, Myntra–Jabong, MakeMyTrip.com, and Reliance Communications.
Murthy’s appointment comes as Netflix continues to expand its presence and storytelling footprint in India, with a growing slate of original content and localized marketing efforts aimed at deepening its connection with Indian audiences.
