Chennai: Eminent women personalities from diverse fields in Tamilnadu constitute the jury of the most coveted News 7 Tamil’s Thanga Tharagai Virudhugal. They have worked in unison with the research team of Cornerstone, the experiential marketing firm. They have selected the icons in the 6 chosen fields & a Life-time achievement award as well. There are a total of 7 awards and Shyam, the President of Cornerstone recounts “7 is complete…the 7 colors of a rainbow … the 7 raagas of music … the 7 wonders of the world and to cap it all we have therefore chosen 7 because it’s a NEWS 7 Tamil mega event.”
He further added “An award should always be coveted and only that will add respect to the brand that presents and the awardees who win. Therefore the process should be transparent and authentic, I staunchly believe.”
“There was a time when one really had to search far and wide for women achievers. Today we are spoilt for choices. It’s a difficult but yet a happy task to be on the selection panel for these awards. ‘The awardees have all excelled in their chosen fields, have been pioneers and are role models too. After much research and discussion, we have come up with super achievers who have made a mark consistently in their respective fields,” says Sushila Ravindranath, an eminent journalist and one of the Jury member.
Yet another Jury member, Latha Pandiarajan, co-founder of Ma Foi Management Consultants Limited says “The jury members discussed about the choices in each of the categories. We looked at certain basic criteria and majorly their contribution in their chosen fields. It was a difficult choice in some of the categories as each of them have done
well in their own spheres. We have chosen the person after discussing every aspect and only then we have come to a consensus.”
To put it in a nutshell, just as 7 days complete a week so will the 7 awards make the event complete.
