PM Modi’s Message of #9M9MINS garnered 1 BN viewing minutes: BARC

According to the third weekly edition of BARC and Nielsen’s report on TV + Smartphone Consumption during crisis, PM Modi’s recorded message of 11 minutes at 9 AM garnered 1 BN Viewing minutes. In this message he urged the citizens to light a candle for 9 minutes 9PM on Sunday April 5th and pray for the good health of the planet and well-being of everyone.

 

A total of 119 million people watched this message across 199 channels on television. The viewing minutes of this message was marginally lesser than PM Modi’s other addresses to the nation during Covid-19 times.

 

The report also shares an interesting insight of how the TV viewership on 5th April 2020dropped by 60% during the 9 Minutes of lighting the candle. The decline started by 08:53 PM and came back to current trends only after 9:30 PM.
