Policybazaar’s latest ad campaign with Kapil Sharma makes a hilarious case for comparing car insurance

Gurugram: What’s black and white and possibly a Gadha? In Policybazaar’s latest witty brand campaign, the answer might just be your car insurance decision. Featuring the inimitable Kapil Sharma, the campaign drives home a clear message: those who don’t compare insurance options on Policybazaar may end up paying more — and looking foolish.

The campaign features two humorous films where Sharma delivers the punchline with his trademark flair. In one spot, he points to a zebra buying a car and cheekily clarifies, “Na na… galat samajh rahe hain aap. Ye Zebra nahin hai.” The twist? Anyone skipping a price comparison on Policybazaar and overspending is not a zebra, but a Gadha (donkey). The narrative continues in a second ad, where the “zebra” gets his car insured without comparison — only to realise his mistake.

Samir Sethi, Head of Brand Marketing at Policybazaar, shared, “The ads are humorous but the pain of overpaying for something like your car insurance is very real. Whether your car is fresh out of the showroom or a few years old, buying without comparing your best options means you are paying more than you need to. The ads deliver a serious message in a relatable way — look before you leap and make smarter choices.”

The creative direction was led by MagicCircle, with Dheeraj Renganath and Natwar Singh, co-founders of the agency, noting, “Buying car insurance without comparing and selecting the best option from PolicyBazaar is definitely not a smart decision. So, for this campaign, we just had to imagine how Kapil Sharma would choose to say this in his trademark and inimitable style. This is how the ‘Zebra nahi Gadha’ idea was born. Of course, with such an interesting visual, we could be sure that the campaign would break the clutter as well.”

With its quirky storytelling and strong call to action, the campaign underlines Policybazaar’s continued mission to simplify insurance decisions and encourage smarter financial habits — all with a touch of humour.
