Chennai : The leading Tamil news channel Puthiyathalaimurai TV has announced the infotainment event “Veetuku Oru Vignyani” which means “a scientist for every home”, the famous science talent hunt show for the year 2014, which was conducted by the Channel in various towns all over Tamil Nadu.
This will be the 3rd year of the event and the theme for the current season was Thrift, Savings and Wealth which elaborately means “In everyday life, how costs can be controlled by intelligent solution through the students’ findings for a better property of the society.
The event will be in a format of science exhibition for students to present their innovative inventions and act as a platform to explore the budding scientific talents among the school student all over Tamil Nadu.
The channel had tied up with various educational institutions in 29 districts of Tamil Nadu and the preliminary selection process started on 17th July at Tirunelveli and scheduled to complete on 25th August at Vellore town. The winning team of each district will be sponsored for a Grand Finale in Chennai.
The participants can display their inventions as a team of 2 students and the channel’s jury team gives Maximum emphasis to innovative projects of students to kindling curiosity and interest in the subject. However, Projects copied from Google search or presented elsewhere earlier by some other team will be disqualified.
The event has two category of participation namely Junior and Senior categories. while the students from class 6th to 8th fall under Junior level, the senior level comprises the students of class 9th and 10th standard.
The Winning Team in the Grand Finale will win 50,000/- cash Prize per team respectively for Juniors and Seniors.Tamil Nadu Runners Team will win 25,000/- cash prize per team respectively and 2nd Runners Team will win 15,000/- cash prize per team.
The channel has roped in Cavin Kare’s Cavin’s Milk Shake as the Main sponsor and Glucovita Bolt as powered by sponsor apart from scores of leading educational institutions. The telecast date of the show is expected to be announced shortly. It may be noted that the auto major Mahindra Raise is also running a similar ad campaign inviting innovations with an option to fund such innovations.
