Spikes Asia announces appointment of Joe Pullos as its new Festival Director

Spikes Asia announces 2018 Jury including 49% female leaders from across Asia Pacific

Organisers of the Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity have today announced the appointment of Joe Pullos in the role of Festival Director.

Pullos is a highly experienced commercial leader having worked in the advertising industry for more than 17 years in senior sales and marketing leadership roles within the region. His extensive client and publisher-side experience means Pullos has a tremendous understanding of the trends and issues affecting the advertising landscape today.

Speaking to his appointment, Pullos said, “I’m absolutely thrilled with the opportunity to lead the premier creativity event in Asia Pacific. It’s exciting to be charged with the continued evolution and growth of Spikes Asia and I’m really looking forward to working closely with the creative, media and client communities throughout the region. I’m committed to delivering an awesome festival that not only celebrates the best in creativity and effectiveness, but also delivers the unforgettable experiences our audience deserves.”

Pullos joins Spikes Asia from Event Cinemas, Australia and New Zealand’s largest entertainment business where he was Director of Sales. Prior to that Pullos was Head of Trade Marketing for News Corp Australia, where he was also the official representative for the Cannes Lions and Spikes Asia festivals.

Tim Waldron, Co-Chairman, Spikes Asia and Managing Director of Haymarket Media Asia commented, “As the communications landscape goes through some seismic changes, the role of events like Spikes Asia as a place where the industry comes together has never been more important. Joe’s experience in the industry and connections in the region make him a natural choice to lead the next exciting chapter of the Spikes Asia story.”

Pullos takes up the post on 19 March. Spikes Asia 2018 will be 26 – 28 September.
