Top 4 Weekday Fiction Launches of 2014 – All from Zee TV

Mumbai : Zee TV rules the fiction genre with a clean sweep in year 2014, what with 4 of its weekday primetime shows leading the pack in the Top 12 fiction launches of the year, proving yet again that when it comes to story-telling and the ability to catch the pulse of the audience with subjects closest to their hearts, Zee wins hands down! Take a look at the opening week averages of all the fiction launches across GECs for the year and you see Zee TV’s ‘Jamai Raja’ at No. 1 with 5488 TVTs, Zee TV’s latest primetime offering ‘Satrangi Sasural’ that opened in week 49 with 4970 TVTs stands at No. 2, ‘Bandhan’ with 4366 TVTs is at No 3 and ‘Aur Pyar Ho Gaya’ is at No 4 with 4044 TVTs.

Zee TV’s fiction line-up is growing from strength to strength with each successive launch. Jamai Raja’s opening episode that clocked in 5930 TVTs combined with an opening week average of 5488 TVTs made it the highest opening soap in the last 2 years. The show also emerged as the quickest gainer and attained slot leadership within 3 weeks of its launch. Kumkum Bhagya saw a 171% growth during its shaadi highpoint (first 4 wk average: 2963 TVTs & the Shaadi event: 8043 TVTs), gaining slot leadership in week 34. Add to that the fact that Jodha Akbar continues to be a consistent slot leader for over a year now and Zee TV is the undisputed ruler of weekday primetime this year.

Zee TV Business Head Pradeep Hejmadi says, “The consistent growth of our fiction programming speaks of our relationship with audiences that has only evolved and strengthened over the years. It is essential to shape the content right, pitch it in a manner that resonates and appeals and aggressively market it to ensure each show launches at a higher level than the show that has been replaced. With a strong weekday fiction line up and equally strong weekend pillars like Maharakshak Aryan and Neeli Chhatri Wale, the launch of our next non-fiction property will complete the weekend offering!.”

This weekend, viewers can look forward to a glitzy star-studded soirée of entertainment and acknowledgement where the entire Zee family of actors come together under one roof on ‘Vaseline Zee Rishtey Awards 2014 co-powered by Nutralite from Amway and Dabur Red Paste’ on Sunday 14th December at 8 PM, only on ZEE TV
