TUNE unveils Infographic on India's Mobile App Download

TUNE (http://www.tune.com), a Seattle based Software-as-a-Service company for mobile marketing surveyed its large database of customers to understand how Indians interacted and used mobile apps as compared to other regions in 2016.

Methadology

  • TUNE took into account direct one-on-one feedback taken from 3,500+ Indians across major cities and states
  • TUNE analysed 236 million app installs by about 100 million Indians
  • The study is also based on in-depth market insights from 10 Indian mobile leaders with a combined user- base of 2 billion gamers

The detailed infographic capturing all of the key trends. Here are a few key indicators showing how India is becoming the mobile growth engine of the world:

  • India witnessed almost 3X growth in app installs for brands and businesses over the past year
  • In India, 90.3% of all app installs are organic, with just under 10% being paid, or generated via advertising
  • Shopping is the top paid install category (followed by transportation and finance) that marketers measure
  • Shopping is also the top organic install category (followed by arcade games and lifestyle apps) that marketers measure
  • 9 in 10 Indians play mobile game with female users leading the race
  • Over 50% of Indians prefer single player games
  • India is an android country with over 90% users use Android devices
  • Maharashtra leads the top 5 regions by app installs
