Mumbai: Ultra Jhakaas, a Marathi OTT platform, has announced the world digital premiere of Marathi film Kairee, marking its first major release of 2026. Directed by Shantanu Rode, the film will stream exclusively on Ultra Jhakaas from January 14 and stars Sayali Sanjeev in a compelling lead role.
Shot extensively in London, Kairee traces the journey of a village woman whose life is upended after relocating to the city with her husband, only for him to mysteriously disappear. Left alone in an unfamiliar environment, she must navigate social and emotional challenges while embarking on a journey of self-discovery and resilience in her search for answers.
Sayali Sanjeev anchors the narrative with a restrained and emotionally nuanced performance, bringing depth to a character shaped by quiet strength. The film also features an ensemble cast including Subodh Bhave, Siddharth Jadhav, and Shashank Ketkar, who add further layers to the storytelling. Blending warmth with contemporary themes, Kairee reflects the evolving voice of modern Marathi cinema.
