Mumbai: Zee Music Company is accelerating its transformation into a truly pan-India music label by significantly expanding its presence across South Indian language markets through a series of strategic film music acquisitions and original music partnerships.
Building on its multilingual growth strategy, the company is strengthening its catalogue across Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada cinema, while reinforcing its position beyond Hindi and independent music. The expansion aligns with Zee Music Company’s vision of creating one of India’s most diverse multilingual music libraries by collaborating with celebrated filmmakers, emerging talent, and culturally rooted stories across regional markets.
The company’s South Indian journey gained momentum following the success of the critically acclaimed Malayalam film Balan: The Boy, directed by Chidambaram with music composed by Sushin Shyam. Beyond film music, Zee Music Company is also expanding its presence in original music intellectual properties. The company has partnered with ZEE5 Malayalam’s Kerala Underground, an upcoming hip-hop reality show, securing its music rights while recently releasing the show’s promotional anthem featuring Dabzee, The Imbachi, MC Couper, and Parimal Shais.

Speaking about the company’s expansion strategy, Sujal Parekh, Chief Business Officer, Zee Music Company, said, “We’re happy to partner with Wayfarer Films on I’M GAME. With an expanding catalogue spanning Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Punjabi, Gujarati, devotional music, and other regional languages, Zee Music Company continues to broaden its multilingual footprint.
