New Delhi: At its annual Made on YouTube event, YouTube unveiled a suite of new products and innovations that it says will power “the next decade of creation, connection, and business” on the platform. The updates, spanning AI-driven editing, new tools in YouTube Studio, live-streaming enhancements, and expanded monetization options, underline YouTube’s strategy to cement its role as the leading hub for the global creator economy.
“YouTube has always been about creators. No studio, network, or AI tool will own the future of entertainment — that power belongs to creators,” said Neal Mohan, CEO of YouTube, in his keynote address.
AI-Powered Creation
Among the biggest announcements was Edit with AI in the YouTube Create app, which transforms raw footage into a first-draft video by automatically selecting highlights, adding transitions, music, and even playful AI-generated voiceovers in English and Hindi. A new “Speech to Song” feature will also allow Shorts creators to turn video dialogue into humorous soundtracks.
YouTube emphasized that all AI-generated content will carry SynthID watermarks and labels for transparency.
Studio Upgrades for Smarter Creation
The platform announced a major expansion of YouTube Studio, adding features like:
- Title and Thumbnail A/B Testing across up to three versions.
- A refreshed Inspiration Tab that offers creators nine new video ideas with performance insights.
- Collaborations that allow up to five creators to co-own and distribute a single video.
- Auto-dubbing with Lip Sync in 20 languages.
- An expanded likeness detection tool, in open beta, to protect creators from unauthorized AI-generated content.
The Biggest Upgrade to Live
With over 30% of logged-in daily viewers watching live content in Q2 2025, YouTube introduced its “largest upgrade to Live ever.” Features include:
- Live Practice mode for testing before going public.
- Playables on Live, bringing 75+ interactive games like Angry Birds Showdown and Trivia Crack into live streams.
- Enhanced monetization tools for live creators.
Monetization and Brand Partnerships
YouTube also announced a new approach to brand sponsorships in long-form videos, allowing creators to insert “swappable” branded segments that can be updated, resold, or tailored to different markets.
For Shorts creators, a new brand link feature will let them add direct links to brand sites, driving measurable conversions. Meanwhile, AI-powered product tagging in YouTube Shopping will automatically identify and tag products at optimal moments.
YouTube Shopping continues to see exponential growth, with Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV) up 5X year-over-year and over 500,000 creators globally enrolled as of July 2025.
Strengthening Creator-Fan Connections
On YouTube Music, artists will soon be able to host countdowns for new releases and offer “thank you” videos, behind-the-scenes clips, and exclusive content to top fans.
Over the past four years, YouTube has paid out more than $100 billion to creators, artists, and media companies. The 2025 announcements aim to accelerate that growth by combining AI-powered creation with smarter monetization pathways.
“As we look ahead, we remain committed to empowering creators, fostering community, and redefining how the world watches, listens, and connects,” Mohan said.
