Calicut: Club FM UAE 99.6, a popular radio station in UAE from the Mathrubhumi Group, will host Mathrubhumi-AR Rahman Live 2017 concert on 17th March, 2017, at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, UAE. The official announcement about the concert was made by Grammy and Academy Award winner AR Rahman in a media conference held in Dubai.
It is after a hiatus of seven years that Rahman is staging an event in Dubai. This opportunity is being offered to innumerable local fans, including the diaspora. The music and orchestral arrangements will be embellished by technical razzmattaz, sophisticated gadgetry, lasers, and kinetic backdrop.
AR Rahman encapsulated his thoughts on the press conference with his pithy quote, “I am thankful to Mathrubhumi for organising my show; it feels great to perform in UAE after seven years.”
Shreyams Kumar, Director Marketing and Electronic Media, said, “It is with a deep sense of delight and pride that the house of Mathrubhumi is hosting the musical genius of A R Rahman in Dubai, which will be a new precedent of entertainment and will connect with our audience.”
Recounting the long relationship with the musical genius, he mentioned how Rahman graciously consented to shift the venue of the Keraleeyam-Jai Ho musical event for HIV-afflicted from the prior-decided venue of Thiruvananthapuram to Kozhikode at Mathrubhumi’s request. “He was so much at home in our city of music lovers and became one of the members of our family. We also experienced the wonder that the man is and continues to be,” said Kumar.
