Star Plus retains leadership in Urban HSM; Zee Anmol continues dominance in U+R HSM

BARC Wk 2 : Sony regains top spot in Urban HSM & becomes No. 2 in U+R; Zee Anmol continues to lead Rural

Mumbai: According to the BARC ratings for week 40 for the period between Saturday, 29th September 2018 and Friday, 5th October 2018 the Hindi GEC market has witnessed a mild shuffle in the rankings in in the current week. The leaders of the Urban HSM and the Hindi GEC category  remained the same i.e Zee Anmol 832081 leads the HSM GEC and the Rural market while Star Plus dominates the Urban HSM space. With a marginal rise in viewership Colors’ Naagin 3 continues to rule the market for several weeks as the top rates program in the HSM Urban space.

Following the leader is Star Utsav with 827178  (000s) impressions that has retained its runner up position, Star Bharat 763552 (000s) impressions and Star Plus 700178 (000s) impressions are seen exchanging their week 39 ranking and stood at the 3rd and 4th places respectively. Zee TV 689810 (000s) impressions is seen climbing to the 5th place pushing away Sony Pal 685364 to the 6th slot. However Colors 614371 (000s) impressions has stepped down to the 7th place while Sony 610660 (000s) impressions has managed to retain its 8th position in the list. Dangal TV 465992 (000s) impressions is seen as a new entrant in the top 10 Hindi GEC list this week in the 9th place and Sony Sab 448184 (000s) impressions has taken the 10th slot in the list.

Hindi GEC Urban

The ranking of the Hindi GEC in the Urban HSM category remains the same but for a minor change in the ranking of a couple of Hindi GECs. Star Plus 486109 (000s) impressions is leading the market this week with a marginal rise in its viewership, followed by Sony 472936 (000s) impressions and Colors 437079 (000s) impressions which have managed to retain their ranking though there is a suble decline in its viewership. Zee TV with 424332 (000s) impressions occupies the 4th slot in the list while Star Bharat 370431 (000s) impressions and Sony Sab 342530 (000s) impressions stood and 5th and 6th places interchanging their places against week 39.  Star Utsav 242987 (000s) impressions with stood at the 7th slot. Sony Pal 194859 (000s) impressions is placed at the 8th place while Zee Anmol 159766 (000s) impressions and &TV 130435 (000s) impressions is managed to occupy the 9th and 10 positions in the list this week.

Hindi GEC Rural

The HSM Rural market is dominated by Zee Anmol 672316 (000s) impressions for several weeks now, followed by Star Utsav 584191 (000s) impressions and Sony Pal 490505(000s) impressions in the runner up and second runner up positions respectively. Star Bharat 393121(000s) impressions has climbed to the 4th slot while Dangal TV 370139(000s) impressions has also moved up to the 5th position. Rishtey 341272 (000s) impressions is seen settled at the 6th place while the order of  Zee TV 265478(000s) impressions, Big Magic 219090 (000s) impressions, Star Plus 214069 (000s) impressions and Colors 177292 (000s) impressions ranking remains unchanged.
