Zee Kannada introduces the 5th edition of Zee Kutumba Awards this year, an effort towards continuing the journey of recognizing and honouring outstanding talent from the channel. The Kutumba Awards 2019 is themed around celebrating the television stars that frequent every Kannada household every day with their unique stories. In honour of this, the channel executed a successful nomination party as a precursor to the Awards, giving the opportunity to their ardent audiences to vote for the ‘Favourite’ and ‘Popular’ categories from a total of 44 categories. The 1-week voting was determined via SMS votes, votes through the Zee5 app and votes via canter that moved around Karnataka that translated into an outstanding Awards ceremony.
The glamorous evening brought together some of the most exceptional talents across all Zee Kannada’s properties and the best of Sandalwood. The sensational red carpet themed on western and traditional carnival with a jaatre set-up that included a JagaliKatte for leisure, a selfie-zone that presented immediate hard copies of the images, games like balloon shooting and ring toss. With the popular Manthana from Comedy Khiladigalu hosting the red carpet, the highlight of the one-of-a-kind red carpet were the escorts, the little stars from Drama Juniors and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa that welcomed every celebrity walk-in to the ceremonial evening with utmost gusto.
Joining hands to recognize the best of television in the year 2019 across various categories, the red carpet witnessed the who’s who from the Kannada entertainment industry including Navarasa Nayaka Jaggesh, Ramesh Aravind, RakshitaPrem, Rajesh Krishnan, Roaring Star Srii Murali, Dolly Dhananjay, VasishtaSimha, Neenasam Satish, Pranaya Raja Srinath and Srinivas murthy.
The remarkable personalities made their entrance through an astounding imposition of Zee Kannada’s logo at the entryway, into the glorious evening that was hosted by special anchors that heightened the entertainment quotient of the night. Dr Hamsalekha, one of the mahaguru’s of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, the exuberant Anushree, the-all-time-favorite Master Anand, ChinnariMutta Vijay Raghavendra, and the most popular fiction pair – Kamaliand Gattimelaleads.
The channel’s biggest night of the year witnessed a line-up of sizzling performances by Sandalwood stars, Meghana Raj, Meghana Gaonkar, Kiss movie fame Virat and Sree Leela. The extraordinary performances by the Zee Kannada television stars received great cheer!
