Mumbai: Zee Keralam has announced the launch of its upcoming fiction show Pranayavilasam, a family drama that blends romance, ambition, family relationships and the aspirations of today’s youth. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Thiruvananthapuram, the show traces the inspiring journey of a young village girl determined to build her own identity through education and perseverance.
At the centre of the story is Malavika, an intelligent, strong-willed and culturally rooted young woman from a rural village who dreams of pursuing higher studies at a prestigious university. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she marries Adhithyan, a charismatic, free-spirited city-bred young man from a traditional joint family. As the couple navigates university life, family expectations and personal differences, an unconventional love story gradually unfolds.
Built around the premise of “Outside their home, a mismatched married couple’s love blossoms in the university,” Pranayavilasam explores themes including the aspirations of small-town women, urban-rural cultural dynamics, generational conflicts and the evolving structure of joint families.
The show features an ensemble cast comprising Neethu Maya, Arjun San, Sona Philip, Mathew Jotty, Vishnu Prakash and Ambika Mohan, who portray the lead and key characters.
Ahead of the television premiere, Zee Keralam will host an exclusive preview screening of Pranayavilasam in the presence of the cast and crew on July 4 at 11:00 AM at Aries Plex SL Cinemas, Thampanoor, Thiruvananthapuram.
With its blend of romance, family drama and coming-of-age storytelling, Pranayavilasam aims to resonate with audiences across generations while highlighting the dreams and challenges of young people navigating changing social and cultural landscapes.
