Share Share ShareShare

Kodeeswari, the first of its kind, all women show in KBC format, is on its one month run on Colors Tamil and it has already taken up a lot of social causes. Staying true to the objective of empowering women, the show has empowered many contestants from different walks of life.

Colors Tamil showcased some of the real life ‘Slumdog millionaires’ who went on to achieve their life-changing dream with Kodeeswari Gameshow. Be it the first graduate girl from a gypsy family who won 12.5 Lacs, A housewife who was branded unlucky by her own family, went on to win 25 Lacs to rewrite her fortune, the show had orchestrated many inspiring and empowering journey. The show was fortunate enough to witness its first winner of One Crore in its very first season itself.

Anup Chandrashekharan, the Business Head of Colors Tamil, at the Press Conferenced announced the first Kodeeswari and said, “This is a moment of pride for COLORS Tamil. Kousalya’s win will go on to empower, engage, influence and motivate generations of women to come. Kousalya’s victory on Kodeeswari opens up newer avenues for women like her. What makes it even more special is that Kousalya has created history by being the first female differently-abled winner of the format in the world.”

Anup also went on to give a few snippets of the show and spoke about some of the other winners who had fought all odds to come on the show……. We had a contestant who was named Mahalaxmi, but was always considered to be unlucky. On this show she won 25 lacs. Another contestant from a community which has been fighting for 40 years to be in the list for Govt schemes, she won 12,50,000 and we are taking a recommendation to the TN CM on this issue. A participant who was partially blind, we have facilitated her operation and she is now recovering. Many such stories on this show”.

The show host Radhika Sarathkumar who traveled with all these inspiring women as the show host for the first time said, I should say that it is a challenging journey. For so many years I have produced, directed and acted in many show but to be an anchor on such a big format show is my first time. I was very apprehensive, lot of questions running in my head, will I be able to do justice to the show and today I thank Colors Tamil for giving me this opportunity. My husband was more excited than me and he encouraged me and pushed me to accept the offer. I am extremely happy as this show is challenging me, it’s not only about a sync with everybody but having empathy with the contestants but also to establish a connect with them. I think I am able to connect. Each story opens up the thought in us that how lucky and blessed but also as to how these women have dared to confront and overcome these challenges in their Life and today they are here on the Hot seat. Kodeeswari the game is not about answering the 10 questions and winning some money but Kodeeswari is about winning everyone’s hearts.

After going through various contestants and their life filled with struggles. I learnt that we should never be complaining about our life, concluded Radhikaa.

Colors Tamil is scheduled to air the momentary episodes of differently-abled contestant Kousalya winning One Crore on 20th and 21st January 2020.
