Mumbai: Applause Entertainment and MX Player today unveiled the spellbinding trailer of their upcoming original gangland drama, Kuruthi Kalam. The show revolves around two rival gangs, who, with a history of violence rule the roost in Chennai. An upright youngster, Vijay (Played by Santhosh Prathap), is pulled into their never-ending power play and has to give up his hopes of becoming a police officer when he resorts to violence. As he rises in stature, his enemies also loom large, from his cold-blooded nemesis, Kumar (essayed by Ashok Kumar), to his once-best-friend, Sub Inspector Arun (Played by Soundara Raja).
Directed by P Rajapandi and Danush and written by Danush, K Mohan, Vignesh Karthick, Kishore Sankar, and Kaviraj, Kuruthi Kalam is a thirteen episodic series. The riveting series also sees actors Marimuthu, Vincent Asokan, Srikanth, Sanam Shetty and Eden Kuriakose in pivotal roles as well.
Kuruthi Kalam is produced by Applause Entertainment in association with Arpad Cine Factory and will be streaming on MX Player.
The series adds to the varied offering from Applause entertainment including ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’, ‘Criminal Justice’, Bhaukaal, ‘Hostages’, and ‘City of Dreams’ and premiers on 22nd January exclusively on MX Player.
