Mumbai: Radio City, India’s leading radio network, concluded the 4thseason of the Radio City Cine Awards Marathi, a flagship event that recognizes and felicitates the path-breaking work done by the Marathi film fraternity in 2020. The first of its kind, the listener’s choice award on radio culminated with a grand virtual finale on 24th March 2021 on air. The award night witnessed some of the finest artists of the Marathi film industry bag trophies across 10 categories. Some of the big winners of the night were Gashmeer Mahajani, Pooja Sawant, Shreya Ghoshal, and Siddharth Mahadevan.
After garnering a record-breaking 2.8 crore plus votes from the Marathi film enthusiasts across Maharashtra, the grand finale was celebrated across Radio City’s 10 stations in Maharashtra. The list of awardees included Gashmeer Mahajani and Pooja Sawant who won the Best Actor and Best Actress award. Bonus bagged the best film of the year award. Acclaimed director Priyadarshan Jadhav took home the Best Director award for the film Choricha Mamla while Saurabh Bhave won the Best Screen Play award. Renowned singers Shreya Ghoshal and Siddharth Mahadevan were felicitated with the Best Singer awards. The Best Lyricist and Best Music Director award was bestowed to Guru Thakur and Saket Kanetkar respectively. That’s not all, this year Radio City also introduced a new award category- ‘Immunity Booster Entertainer’ to recognize the most entertaining individual of the Marathi cinema industry. The award was bestowed to everyone’s favorite Kshiti Jog for Choricha Mamla.
