Sales Promotion advertising clocks 27 pc share of Ad Space in Print during Jan-Mar’22: TAM Report

According to TAM AdEx-Report on Print Advertising, Ad Space in Jan-Mar’22 grew by 17 pc compared to Jan-Mar’20.

Ad space per publication in Jan-Mar’22 was almost at par with Jan-Mar’21. In the leading sectors category, Services topped with 17 pc share of Ad Space followed by Auto with 11 pc share during Jan-Mar’22. Top three sectors together accounted to 38 pc share of Ad Space in Print.

 

Total three sectors from Top 10 list maintained their ranking of Jan-Mar’21-22 namely, Retail, Food & Beverages and Personal Accessories.

Among the Top categories, Properties/Real Estates, Hospital/Clinics and Life Insurance moved up in ranking during Jan-Mar’22.Top 10 categories together accounted for more than 30 pc share of Ad Space in Print. Only Public Issues category maintained its rank in Jan-Mar’21-22.

Vitamins/Tonics/Health Supplements, was the only new entrant in Top 10 list. Two out of Top 10 categories were from Auto, Retail and Banking/Finance/Investment sectors each.

Among the Leading Advertisers, SBS Biotech topped the list followed by LIC of India. Top three advertisers maintained their positions during Jan-Mar’22. Reliance Retail moved to 8th rank in Jan-Mar’22 compared to 13th in Jan-Mar’21. Ruchi Soya Industries and Patanjali Ayurveda have surged to the top of the advertisement rankings for Jan-Mar’22.

Top 10 Advertisers contributed to 21 pc share of Ad Space in Print. Four new advertisers entered in Top 10 List.

 

Among the Leading Brands, LIC topped the list followed by Fiitjee. During Jan-Mar’22, there were total 62 K+ brands that advertised in Print. Among the top 10 brands, two each were from the Banking/Finance/Investment and Personal Healthcare sector.

Top 10 Brands contributed to 8 pc share of Print Ad Space. Three brands in the Top 10 belonged Auto sector.

In the Top Growing Categories, 280+ categories registered Positive Growth. Vitamins/Tonics/Health Supplements saw the highest growth in Ad Space with an 87 pc increase, followed by Ecom- Media/Ent./Social Media which increased Thrice between Jan-Mar’22 and Jan-Mar’21.

 In terms of growth pc, Ecom-Financial Services category witnessed highest growth pc among the Top 10 i.e. 18 Times in the Jan-Mar’22.

In the Leading Exclusive Advertisers and Brands categories, 32 K+ Advertisers & 41 K+ Brands exclusively advertised during Jan-Mar’22 compared to Jan-Mar’21. Ruchi Soya Industries and Kia Carens were the top Exclusive Advertiser and Brand respectively in Jan-Mar’22 compared to Jan-Mar’21.

Three of the Top 10 Exclusive Brands belonged to Personal Healthcare and Banking/Finance/Investment sector each.

Sales Promotion advertising covered 27 pc share of Ad Space in Print during Jan-Mar’22. Among Sales Promotions, Multiple Promotion was on top with 41 pc share followed by Discount Promotion.

Top 2 promotions solely covered more than 75 pc share of Ad Space during year Jan-Mar’22.
