Zee Keralam is all set to bring the world television premiere of Dulquer Salmaan starrer ‘Kurup’ on August 27, at 6.30 PM.
The film is produced by Dulquer Salmaan himself under the banner of Wayfarer Films. Directed by Srinath Rajendran, Kurup has screenplay and dialogues by Daniel Sayuj Nair and KS Aravind.
Kurup is based on the life story of Sukumara Kurup, the most notorious fugitive. In the flick, Dulquer Salmaan dons the role of Sudhakara Kurup.
The film unfolds with Sudhakara Kurup availing of an insurance policy of around Rs 8 lakh. The drama he and his gang pull off to extort this policy amount later leads to a heinous crime. Kurup and his gang kill a young man named Charlie and sets the car in which he was travelling, on fire.
The whole plan is to make it look like Kurup has committed suicide so that the insurance money would be his. But, the criminal’s tactics fizzle out, as a joint investigation by the police and the forensic department concludes that the deceased is not Kurup. Knowing that he will be caught, Kurup leaves the country. Till date, no investigative team has been able to find the whereabouts of Kurup.
