If you are looking for a balanced and rational analysis of the Unacademy fiasco this week involving its (now sacked) tutor Karan Sangwan, look no further than the first post below by @MeMeghnad. I cannot help but agree with almost everything he’s said. What has this done for Unacademy’s image? Once the stand was taken, the leadership had to stand by it. But it could have done so adopting a slightly nuanced tone, say some. Meantime, a certain ‘Babita ma’am’s’ classroom video is picking up steam. Unacademy may have opened the floodgates in its quest to silence one voice.

Come September 7, Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan will hit cinemas in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. News of a cameo by popular Tamil star Vijay is doing the rounds. Vijay Sethupathi, who has his own loyal legion of fans in Tamil, is already a familiar face up North. Deepika Padikone is a pan-India star and Nayanthara is referred to as the ‘Lady Superstar’ down South for a reason. Given all this, Tamil director Atlee’s direction and Tamil music director Anirudh’s score, this film is likely to be Bollywood’s biggest success in recent times in its dubbed versions. In Hindi, It certainly looks like a mega hit that will follow in the footsteps of Pathan. With cinema you never know, but the draw of the FDFS and opening weekend seem to be a certainty.

The details are rather sketchy but friends who are part of the Club tell us that this is a significant development and one that has taken some time. Hence, there is a sense of relief. Understandably, because the lease of the premises given by the Maha government expires on November 1, 2024. There are still certain issues to be ironed out with respect to a part of the premises being used commercially, one learns, and hopes everything is sorted amicably.
