PUMA taps Milind Soman as running ambassador, boosts his strides with NITRO range

The 58-year-old joins PUMA's celebrated lineup of sporting greats and endorses the high-performance NITRO range of running shoes

Sports brand, PUMA, has signed fitness icon Milind Soman as Running Ambassador, his first partnership with a performance wear brand.

Milind Soman started running at 38, promoting safe practices. He alternates between barefoot and shoes as needed, favoring PUMA’s NITRO range for cushioning, speed, and stability. His top choice is the Deviate NITRO 2 for its roomy toe box fit, supporting his larger feet.

PUMA’s shoes are favored by sports icons like Virat Kohli, Harmanpreet Kaur, Mohammed Shami, Usain Bolt, Neymar Jr, Sunil Chhetri, and MC Mary Kom.

Speaking about this exclusive coming together of legends of the game, Karthik Balagopalan, Managing Director, PUMA India said, “Milind Soman has been the face of running in India and is an inspiration. While he is well-known as a barefoot runner, PUMA becoming his preferred choice of footwear is a testament to the superior NITRO technology in our shoes that provides comfort, performance, and energy return to thrive in the most demanding conditions. This partnership signifies PUMA’s commitment to supporting athletes in their pursuit of excellence, regardless of age, background, or circumstances. We are thrilled to have Milind Soman in the PUMA family and we are confident that this association will further push and strengthen the running revolution in the country.”

PUMA collaborated with Milind for a campaign on NITRO shoes, acknowledging the challenge of running and promoting a smoother experience with these shoes. He will endorse PUMA’s NITRO range and contribute to the running community. He will represent the brand at key events, serve as the face of PUMA’s men’s bodywear, and participate in campaigns throughout the year.

Milind’s running and fitness pursuits have motivated many enthusiasts to start running. He currently runs an impressive average of 300 kilometers monthly.
