Digital ad impressions rose by 8% from Jan-June 2022 to 2024: TAM AdEx’s report

In Jan-June 2024, ad volumes on the movie genre decreased by 4% compared to Jan-June 2023: Tam Adex

MUMBAI: The digital medium witnessed an increase in ad impressions by 8% in Jan-June 2024 compared to Jan-June 2022. Services was the leading sector with 51% share of ad impressions during Jan-Jun’24.

Ecom-Other Services was the leading category with 7% share of ad impressions during Jan-June 2024.

Grammarly was the leading exclusive advertiser among the digital and TV mediums during Jan-June 2024.

The TAM AdEx- Half Yearly Advertising Report on Digital for Jan-June 2024 has been published.

When TAM compared advertisers of the TV and digital mediums, there were 98.6k+ Exclusive advertisers present in Digital and 1850+ common advertisers between TV and Digital during Jan-June 2024.

The Ecom-Other Services category witnessed growth by 2.1 times during Jan-June 2024 compared Jan-June 2023.  Facebook leads the list of Web Publishers with 34% of the ad impressions during Jan-June 2024.

During Jan-June 2024, YouTube alone had 38% of ad impressions among APPs. Display had the 78% share of ad impressions during Jan-June 2024. In Transaction Methods, Programmatic ascended to the top position with 88% share of ad impressions during Jan-June 2024.

Ad Impression Trend: Digital witnessed an 8% spike in Ad Impression

The digital ad impressions during Jan-June 2024 increased by 8% compared to Jan-Jun’22.

Additionally, the period from Jan-Jun’24 saw a notable 3% increase compared to the same period in 2023.

Leading Sectors: Services Sector retained it’s top position during Jan-June 2024

Services sector retained its top position with more than half of the ad impression share during Jan-Jun’24 compared to Jan-Jun’23.

Ranking of four out of Top 10 sectors improved during Jan-Jun’24 over Jan-Jun’23 on Digital.

Telecom Products, Personal Products and Corporate/Brand Image were the 3 new entrants in the Top 10 list of Sectors.

Leading Categories: First six Categories out of the Top 10 were from the Services sector

Ecom-Other Services ascended to the top position with 7% share of ad impressions during Jan-Jun’24 compared to Jan-June 2023.

Cellular Phones-Smart Phones and Cars were the new entrants in the Top 10 Categories during Jan-Jun’24 compared to Jan-June 2023.

Top 10 categories together accounted for 47% share of Digital ad impressions

Top 10 Exclusive and Common Advertisers between Digital and TV Medium:

There were 98.6k+ exclusive advertisers present in Digital and 1,850+ common advertisers between TV and Digital Mediums during Jan-June 2024.

Top Growing Categories: 230+ Categories registered a Positive Growth

Based on the difference in ad impression, Ecom-Other Services leads the list of Top 10 Growing Categories in Jan-June 2024 over Jan-June 2023.

In terms of growth %, Retail Outlets-Home/Interiors/Furniture category witnessed highest pc growth among the Top 10 i.e. 3.4 Times followed by Corporate-Auto category with 3.3 Times.

Leading Web Publishers & APPs : YouTube leads as Web Publication and Application in terms of ad impressions

Facebook was the leading web publisher followed by Twitter during Jan-June 2024 compared to Jan-June 2023.

Whereas, YouTube and Cricbuzz Cricket Scores and News leads the list of Top 10 APPs in Jan-June 2024.

Leading Digital Platforms and Transaction Methods for Digital Advertising: Jan-June 2024

Display was the leading digital platform with 78% share of ad impressions during Jan-June 2024.

Programmatic was the most popular method for promoting ads on digital platforms, accounting for 88% of total ad impressions, followed by Programmatic/Ad Network method with 4% share in Jan-June 2024.
