Mumbai: Janaki Shaher has joined Ruder Finn India as Senior Account Director. Shaher transitions to the agency world after a career entirely rooted on the client side, bringing a wealth of experience in public relations and strategic communications.
Announcing the new role on her LinkedIn, Janaki shared, “New beginnings – in more ways than one! After spending all of my career on the client side, stepping into agency life was an atypical move, and yet, it instantly felt right. I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Senior Account Director at Ruder Finn India! I couldn’t have asked for a better place to begin this chapter than Ruder Finn India. The pace, the people, the problem-solving, all of it has challenged and energized me in the best ways possible.”
She added, “These past three months have been a journey of unlearning, relearning, and rediscovering the joy of work that truly stimulates the mind. And just like that, we’ve already hit another milestone: Team RF has a new address in Mumbai! A fresh space, new energy, and endless possibilities. Before joining Ruder Finn India, Janaki served as Senior Manager, Public Relations at Sony Pictures Network India. She has also worked with several high-profile media and entertainment companies, including MX Player, Viacom18 Media Pvt. Ltd., and Shiamak Davar Institute for Performing Arts (SDIPA).
Over her career, she has built a strong reputation in strategic communications, digital media, content marketing, media relations, corporate communication, content curation, and event planning. Janaki has managed communications for some of the country’s most recognized brands and properties — including Hindi GEC leader COLORS (Bigg Boss, Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, Fear Factor, Mahakaali), regional brands such as COLORS Gujarati, COLORS Kannada, COLORS Bangla, as well as VOOT and Viacom18 Motion Pictures.
