Mumbai: In a strategic move to deepen its engagement with policymakers and regulators, PhonePe has announced the appointment of Shivnath Thukral as Vice President for Public Policy and Government Affairs.
In his new role, Thukral will be responsible for spearheading PhonePe’s external engagement with government bodies and regulatory authorities. He will work closely with the company’s founders, Sameer Nigam and Rahul Chari, as well as the broader leadership team, to support policy-driven innovation and strengthen PhonePe’s position as a key player in India’s digital economy.
Thukral brings with him extensive experience in the public policy and technology space. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Public Policy at Meta, where he was instrumental in shaping the tech giant’s advocacy efforts across regulatory and financial inclusion domains. He has also held influential roles in prominent industry bodies including BIF, USISPF, and PAFI, earning recognition as a leading voice in the policy ecosystem.
