Mumbai: After nearly three decades of shaping the communications landscape at MullenLowe Lintas Group, Ameer Ismail has announced that he will be stepping down from his role as President, Lintas Live. A towering figure in India’s public relations industry, Ameer’s journey with the organisation began in 1996 and has spanned 28 remarkable years marked by strategic leadership, innovation, and a commitment to nurturing future talent.
Widely credited with the transformation of LinOpinion into Lintas Live—a digital-first, creative PR agency—Ameer has been instrumental in positioning the firm as one of the most dynamic and future-ready communications brands in India. Under his stewardship, Lintas Live expanded its portfolio and capabilities to deliver award-winning integrated campaigns for top-tier clients including TATA Starbucks, Etihad Airways, Hyatt, Valvoline, Visit Victoria, Budweiser, Texas Instruments, and Sony Pictures Networks India, among others.
Ameer’s leadership marked a significant shift from traditional PR to a multidisciplinary approach encompassing digital content, influencer engagement, media strategy, and crisis communications. His sharp strategic counsel and unwavering client focus established him as a trusted advisor to over 500 brands and C-suite leaders across industries.
Reflecting on his journey, Ameer said, “I’ve had a dream run at Lintas—benefiting from rich learnings across disciplines and functions. The future of PR and communications is immensely exciting, and emerging technologies like AI will offer an entirely new canvas of opportunities. My next move will embrace these possibilities and build on the experience I’ve gained along the way.”
His departure comes at a time when Lintas Live is backed by a strong client roster and a well-prepared leadership team—many of whom were directly mentored by Ameer. He will continue to work closely with the MullenLowe Lintas Group leadership over the coming months to ensure a seamless transition.
Ameer’s career has been defined by a series of leadership milestones. He joined the Lowe Lintas management committee in 2008 and played key roles across agency brands like dCell, Advent, and Lintertainment. In 2014, he helped forge a joint venture with global communications giant Golin and was invited to join their Global Leadership Group. In 2018, Ameer took on the additional role of Chief Growth Officer for PointNine Lintas, further broadening his strategic impact.
Recognised as one of the longest-serving PR agency heads in India, Ameer has consistently featured in industry power lists such as Reputation Today’s Top 10 PR Leaders and exchange4media’s 100 Influential Game Changers. In 2011, he received the CMO Asia Award for Outstanding Contribution to Corporate Communications.
Beyond the boardroom, Ameer has played an active role in the industry ecosystem—serving on advisory boards and juries for premier forums like the Fulcrum Awards, SABRE Awards, and the Abby Awards. A passionate mentor, he frequently lectures at leading academic institutions including Symbiosis, Xavier Institute of Communications, Atlas Skilltech University, and Scranton University in the U.S., and is a member of the SCORE advisory council.
As he embarks on a new chapter, Ameer’s contributions leave behind a legacy of resilience, innovation, and future-readiness—not just for Lintas Live, but for the Indian PR and communications industry at large.
