Mumbai: Diageo India has appointed Aanandita Dutta as its Vice President – Marketing and Category Head. She takes on the new mandate shortly after moving on from Pizza Hut India, where she led the brand’s marketing and communication strategies as Chief Marketing Officer.
Dutta brings with her nearly 20 years of rich marketing expertise across Indian and global markets. She began her career at Unilever, where she rose to become Global Brand Director. In this role, she was instrumental in shaping brand equity, defining brand purpose and positioning, and driving innovation roadmaps and communication strategies across both developed and emerging markets.
Her professional journey also includes impactful stints with GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare and Whirlpool, where she worked on marquee brands such as Horlicks, Sensodyne, and Whirlpool Refrigerators. At Unilever, she handled brands like Lipton, Kissan, and Taaza, sharpening her skills in managing diverse consumer portfolios.
Most recently at Pizza Hut, Dutta was pivotal in repositioning the quick service restaurant chain as a “Younger and Everyday” QSR. Her efforts emphasized value pricing, digital innovation, and youth-focused campaigns, helping the brand strengthen its appeal among millennial and Gen-Z audiences.
With her extensive track record of building and scaling iconic consumer brands, Dutta is expected to play a significant role in driving Diageo India’s marketing vision and category growth in the coming years.
