Mumbai: Republic Media Network has witnessed a significant leadership change with Hersh Bhandari stepping down from his role as Chief Executive Officer of Republic TV after nearly eight years, according to media reports.
Bhandari’s departure comes at a time when the network has been undergoing structural reorganisation across multiple functions. Over the past few months, Republic has restructured its sales operations, including engaging third-party partners to oversee processes. In addition, the legal and human resources functions have seen major shifts as part of the ongoing transformation.
Having joined Republic after an illustrious career spanning more than two decades in India’s leading media companies, Bhandari played a central role in driving the network’s expansion. Prior to his stint at Republic, he was associated with India Today Television and earlier spent six years with Times Network.
In February 2022, Bhandari was elevated to Group Chief Operating Officer (COO), where he was tasked with overseeing Republic’s national broadcast operations and shaping the network’s ambitious growth plans across new regions and languages. He was later appointed as CEO, succeeding Vikas Khanchandani, who exited in 2022.
Bhandari’s exit marks the latest in a series of leadership changes at Republic, signalling the network’s continued efforts to realign its strategy and operations in a rapidly evolving media environment.
